Colibri Altar Cloth

Colibri is the hummingbird, and across the traditions of the Amazon it arrives as a messenger. Small, quick and impossible to hold, it carries associations of joy, endurance and the ability to move between what is seen and what is not.

This altar cloth is hand embroidered in the visionary style of the Shipibo Conibo people of the Peruvian Amazon, whose stitched geometry is understood as song and energetic pathway made visible. It is made for altars, meditation spaces and ceremonial work.

Because the embroidery is done entirely by hand, the stitching and coloring vary from one cloth to the next.
