Shipibo Ceremonial Bracelet – Snake Bones, Seeds & Caapi Vine

Handmade in the Loreto region of Peru, this bracelet gathers three things the Shipibo people have always found close at hand. A slice of caapi vine sits at the center with the grain still showing in the cut, flanked by pale snake vertebrae and rounded seeds in black and warm brown. It is strung on a braided black cord with a sliding knot, so it adjusts to fit the wrist.

Caapi holds a central place in Amazonian ceremonial life, and carrying a piece of the vine is a way of keeping that connection close through the day. The snake bones speak to shedding and renewal, the seeds to what grows back after.

Every seed is picked and drilled by hand and every cut of vine is different, so no two bracelets come out the same. Small variations in color, size and grain are part of the piece.
